CALL TO VOLUNTEERS – Monumental Reckoning

This Juneteenth, sculptor Dana King, in partnership with San Francisco’s Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD), the San Francisco African American Chamber of Commerce, and arts nonprofit Illuminate, this radical new work will stand in the heart of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park and be unveiled on June 18th, the eve of Juneteenth.

Far more than an installation of powerfully radical art, Monumental Reckoning creates a sweeping throughline from America’s original sin of 250 years of slavery, to the evolution and imposition of a brutal and pervasive color-based caste system, to this moment of racial reckoning across America.
